About the National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM):

The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) instituted the Centre for Digital Governance (CDG) to operationalise the ambitious National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) to contribute to quality of life for our citizens by way of inclusive and accessible digital solutions. CDG will use the three pillars of NUDM (People, Process, Platforms) to activate digital service delivery and ease of access across all cities and towns in India by 2024. NUDM will create a shared digital infrastructure as a public good through open source, customisable digital urban platforms, building blocks, data infrastructure to manage the core digital urban data, and the infrastructure required for its seamless exchange. Position: DevOps

We are seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer to streamline our development and operations processes. You will be responsible for building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like ElasticSearch.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure that systems are secure and compliant with industry standards.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Automate routine tasks and processes.
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.   
• A minimum of 3+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker, Helm, and Terraform.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
• A solid understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Golang etc.).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, and Chef).
• Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack).
• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).

Number of Position(s): 01

Location: Based out of the office at NIUA, New Delhi, with travel to various Indian states as and when required.

Remuneration: At par with the industry standards, depending on experience and skills. Proof of past remuneration (last received salary/monthly contract payment) will be required.
