About the National Urban Digital Mission:
The National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) instituted the Centre for Digital Governance (CDG) to operationalise the ambitious National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) to contribute to quality of life for our citizens by way of inclusive and accessible digital solutions. CDG will use the three pillars of NUDM (People, Process, Platforms) to activate digital service delivery and ease of access across all cities and towns in India by 2024. NUDM will create a shared digital infrastructure as a public good through open source, customisable digital urban platforms, building blocks, data infrastructure to manage the core digital urban data, and the infrastructure required for its seamless exchange. Job Description:
Position: Program Associate (Software Tester)
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Test Planning and Design: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements and specifications.
- Manual and Automated Testing: Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the software meets quality standards.
- Unit and Integration Testing: Perform unit and integration testing to verify individual components and their interactions within the system.
- Functional Testing: Conduct functional testing to validate the software's functionality against defined requirements.
- Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking systems, and collaborate with the development team for resolution.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of testing processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in software testing, encompassing both manual and automated testing approaches.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Software Tester (CSTE), ISTQB Agile Tester Certification, or Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST) are preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and experience with automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing methodologies.
- Experience with bug-tracking systems for effective defect management.
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze complex software systems and identify potential areas of risk.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with team members.
- Attention to Detail:
- Keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies and ensure software quality.
- Adaptability:
- Ability to adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes in a dynamic work environment.

Location: Based out of the office at NIUA, New Delhi, with travel to various Indian states as and when required.
Reporting Officer: Senior Business Analyst and Product Manager, National Urban Digital Mission/Centre for Digital Governance, NIUA.

Remuneration: At par with the industry standards, depending on experience and skills. Proof of past remuneration (last received salary/monthly contract payment) will be required.
Notice Period: Notice period for termination from either side will be 30 (thirty) days or salary in lieu of.
